San Jose State University and AlcoholEdu
San Jose State University is participating in a longitudinal, multi-year research study designed to evaluate the efficacy of AlcoholEdu in achieving key campus prevention goals along with OTC and the American College Personnel Association.
San Jose State University requires first year students to take the AlcoholEdu course. A contract to complete AlcoholEdu will be signed during orientation. And additional access information will be emailed to all first year students.
AlcoholEdu is a non-opinionated, science-based online education program designed specifically for college students by experts in the field of alcohol and substance abuse.

Course Details:
- Users begin by signing in and taking a Pre-Assessment and Pre-Test (20 minutes) that measure knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors prior to taking the course. These tools provide proof of educational and behavioral change following completion of the course.
- The Course (2 hours) includes Audio and Video Presentations, synchronized with charts and diagrams, that relay the latest science-based information about alcohol and its effects on the body...
- ...and Quiz Questions, Interactive Exercises, and Case Studies that reinforce learning. These exercises are designed not only to help students apply new knowledge, but also to assist them in analyzing their thinking and decision-making about alcohol.
- The Final Exam (25 minutes) was developed in conjunction with The Chauncey Group International, a subsidiary of the Educational Testing Service (ETS). The exam provides a record of the student's acquired knowledge and comprehension.
