Dear  San José State University  student:

Welcome to the Counseling Services website! 

With the recent state budget cuts, we know that you’ve been feeling the effects on this campus, and perhaps in your personal lives as well.  We would like to encourage all of you to look through the various links on our website for some tips to keep you balanced and healthy.  We also want to encourage you to seek counseling for extra support. 

If you are finding that your stressors are affecting your academics, relationships, or that you simply want to vent, or talk to a third person, please come see a trained counselor at Counseling Services!  We are here to help you make the most of your personal and academic life.  

Please visit us in Administration Building, Room 201.  Our doors are open Monday through Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm (except for university furlough days).  Come in for a brief initial consultation with a personal counselor Monday through Thursday, between 10am-4pm.   Or, call us at 408-924-5910 for more information or to make an appointment with an educational counselor.

In Case of an Emergency

If you have an emergency and need immediate assistance during our hours of operation, there is always a staff member available to assist you either on the phone or in person.

For after-hours emergencies, please call 911.  If you live on campus, please call campus police at (408) 924-2222.  You may also call the County Suicide & Crisis Line at 408-279-3312 (available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week).

To Report any Concerns or Issues Anonymously

Help prevent crimes and save lives!  If you are concerned about a campus incident (e.g., unsafe conditions, harassment, substance abuse, theft, etc.), please go to the MySafeCampus website and complete a confidential, anonymous report.
