Academic Probation and Disqualification CounselingA student's academic status at San José State University is based solely on the student's academic coursework. This includes courses taken through the Open University. Every semester students can get information about their grade point average from the university's website. Students earning below a 2.0 grade point average are placed on academic probation. Students who are placed on academic probation may be disqualified from the university if they fail to earn better than a 2.0 grade point average in subsequent semesters.
