"Whispers of Harm" videos
Suicide is the second leading cause of death among college students (Suicide and Mental Health Association International, 2004).  Although college students do not commit suicide more often than other young adults, suicide attempts and completions can have devastating effects to the University and surrounding communities.  Informing students of suicide risk factors and what to look for among classmates and friends can be an effective way to address suicides on campus.  Counseling Services' "Whispers of Harm" videos educates students on the facts of suicide, informs them on the signs that suggest a person may be suicidal, and addresses ways to help those contemplating suicide.  Please watch the videos and talk to us if you or someone you know has thoughts of suicide.
